In our outdoor areas, you can experience pure diversity: from the mysterious world of the moors, through the buzzing world of insects, to the blossoming orchard meadow. ‘Chill-out corners’ are dotted throughout, inviting you to rest and relax.

4. How much time should you allow for the nature experience?
To explore and enjoy the exhibition, the cottage garden and the extensive natural surroundings at your own pace, we recommend allowing 2 to 3 hours.

Yes, our ‘moor forests’ and orchard meadow, as well as the covered area by the bistro, offer lovely shaded spots – and of course there’s ice cream too! This means your day out will remain a relaxing experience for the whole family, even in the heat.

Family Outings and Children

1. What can children experience on a trip to Kranichwelten?
Our grounds are a paradise for children: the exhibition features VR headsets for a virtual flight and creative craft tables. Outside, there’s a fantastic playground, as well as geese and ducks to watch.

2. Is there a bistro for the whole family?
Yes! Our bistro is the ideal place to take a break during your visit. Enjoy some tasty snacks whilst the family relaxes in the laid-back atmosphere of the orchard meadow.

3. Are there facilities for families with babies?
Yes, we provide a clean nappy-changing area to ensure your day out with the whole family is relaxed and stress-free.

4. Is the playground suitable for children of all ages?
Our playground is a real highlight for families. It is safely designed and offers a great opportunity, particularly for nursery and school-age children, to get some exercise in the fresh air whilst their parents relax in the bistro.

5. Are dogs allowed in the exhibition and outdoor areas during a visit?
Dogs on a lead are very welcome in our spacious outdoor areas. In the exhibition itself, we ask for your understanding that dogs are not permitted.

Accessibility

1. Is the site accessible for older people and families?
Absolutely, because accessibility is important to us – we want everyone to be able to experience nature here without any barriers, whether they’re using a walking frame, a wheelchair or a pushchair.

2. How safe and accessible are the paths leading to the Moorwelten?
The paths to our main attractions, such as the Moorwelten, are firm and level – ideal for a safe nature experience with a pushchair or wheelchair.

Bistro and Service

1. Does the bistro also serve vegetarian or regional snacks?
In our cosy bistro, we place great importance on natural and regional produce. We offer a changing selection of light bites that are perfect for a break during your outing – ideal too for cyclists on the Baltic Sea Cycle Route.

2. Why is Günz an insider’s tip for nature photographers?
Thanks to the diversity of our themed areas (moorland, insects, cottage garden), photographers can find unique subjects depicting the nature of Western Pomerania all within a small area. During rest periods, it is possible to photograph wild cranes from the KRANORAMA and from photo hides, which can be booked with us.

3. Am I allowed to take photographs in the exhibition and the outdoor areas?
Private visitors are very welcome to take photographs! Our orchard meadow and the moorland areas make for great subjects. For professional photo shoots or drone footage, please enquire in advance.

Here, school groups can experience ecological relationships first-hand in the natural environment. Our Insect and Moorland Worlds offer hands-on learning. Please book in advance.

Yes, we guide groups through our outdoor areas and exhibitions. It’s the perfect outing, combining specialist knowledge with a visit to the nearby KRANORAMA. Please book in advance.
