Looking for Easter eggs – a different way

Do you want to support Crane Conservation Germany finding the eggs of cranes?

Every year in spring, we are going out into the forest and field to look for the crane clutches. But why? Off course we are not collecting and eating them. We try to find the exact location of the nest to send it to different authorities such as forestry workers. As a result, the clutch is protected and no disturbance will be in a specific area around the breeding site. A successful reproduction is a key factor for a positive crane population development.

How can you help us protecting the nest? Going into the forest and look for the eggs by yourselve? Please don’t do this!!! It is dangerous to go into wetlands and additionally, it will cause a lot of disturbance and can result in the loss of the clutch. Our wildlife biologists are well trained and avoid disturbance at the breeding site.

You can help us doing his important work with a donation or becoming a godparent of a crane nest. As a return, you will get a few pictures of the breeding site every week. In this way, you can protect the breeding site of the crane and additionally you can participate in the new life of a small crane chick.

Here you can find more information about our godparenthood or contact our team, we will be happy to help you.

We wish you Happy Easter
