New projects in Africa

Cranes Conservation Volunteers (CCV) celebrates its 10th anniversary in November. A real success story! In 2015, there were no offspring in the most important region of the Grey Crowned Crane in Kenya, Lake Ol'Bolossat. Thanks to the work of George Mugai, founder of CCV and his team, 169 crane pairs have bred at the lake in 2025.

NABU, the NABU Foundation International and Crane Conservation Germany support CCV. On Sunday, Dr. Günter Nowald, George Mugai, Nils Schmelzer, David Warui (from left) and Werner Schröder (front) discussed new campaigns and projects at a meeting in Berlin.
