Which wintering grounds are currently popular?

Our European map of crane sites was updated and shows now where the cranes are currently residing. About 25,000 cranes are at the two main staging areas in France. About 120,000 cranes are in Spain, but parts of these numbers are from December. And in January, 10,000 cranes were counted just in the “Diepholzer Niederung” which is in Lower Saxony of Germany. But the first cranes have also returned to the Pomeranian coast. So around 50 cranes were recently flying over the KRANORAMA. But it will still take a while until the big spring migration.
