Observation platform at Lake Günz
As soon as the large flocks of cranes have departed and our KRANORAMA closes its doors, our summer observation station at Lake Günz opens. Unlike the KRANORAMA, it is unstaffed and can be visited at any time (except during the crane stopover periods in March, September and October).
For those travelling by car, there is a small car park directly in front of the observation platform on the L213 road between Günz and Buschenhagen.
From the platform, there is a wonderful view of Lake Günz and the surrounding lowland moor. Information boards at the observation station provide details about the lowland moor, small bodies of water and the sustainable land use that Kranichschutz Deutschland implements on its land in collaboration with agricultural tenants.
As there are numerous birds to observe from here and many visitors stay for a while, there are also seating areas on site. Anyone who gets thirsty or hungry whilst birdwatching can enjoy a bite to eat at the KRANICHWELTEN bistro, 700 metres away.
